Daria Stepanova
I have been teaching Russian to foreigners since 2013. I used to work at the university and now I give private and group lessons. I love to study. I think that especially learning foreign languages helps people understand each other better and break stereotypes.
In my lessons I help you achieve your goals. This may be preparation for traveling around Russia, studying at a Russian university, communicating with Russian friends and relatives, doing business in Russia, and so on. I will help you feel more confident when speaking Russian. At the lessons you learn not only the Russian language, but also get acquainted with Russian culture and history.
I also have a YouTube channel where you can find free lessons for beginners, videos about culture and life in Russia, tips for learning the Russian language.

Russian language is pretty far from my mother tongue and might be even difficult to catch but every class I can notice an improvement. The curriculum is oriented in a way to help you achieve your own goals and focus of the areas where you aim to master.
Dasha has a unique way to deliver the information through stories, songs, texts and conversations, along with visual aids such as charts, mindmaps and figures. I appreciate how she pushes her students to practice and enjoy the process of learning, and being engaged more in the Russian language and culture. I have tried both individual and group classes and both were great. I appreciate how she notices students different levels but still make them all get engaged together and learn from each other. Moreover, for people- like me- who have a tight time schedule, it is really great how flexible she is when it comes to planning classes schedules.

I met Daria when I was in college. She was my Russian teacher at the time. Coincidentally, my Russian name at that time was Daria like her. From the beginning, I didn't even know that Dasha was Daria's nickname. I am very grateful to Dasha. I feel very lucky to know her. She is a very patient and lovely teacher, she communicates with me in a way that I can understand, the classroom atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable, not nervous at all, it feels like talking to a friend. Sometimes coming to Dasha's class after practicing the piano feels like a kind of rest, the body and mind are relaxed! What's interesting is that sometimes I accidentally speak Chinese when I don't know how to express it in Russian, and she patiently helps me translate it into Russian and write it to me, realizing barrier-free communication. After that, I will continue to learn Russian with Daria, and continue to improve my Russian level!
